The latest report from Korea's Yonhap News Agency say that the Samsung is set to launch their first OLED TVs next week. The 55" TVs will cost around 10 million won ($8,700) - which is actually cheaper than LG's OLED TV (these already ship and cost 11 million won, or about $9,600). Yonhap say that Samsung may also launch their curved OLED TVs at the same time.

Back in May we heard that Samsung finally managed to increase the OLED TV panel production yields in their pilot line to 60%, and this will be enough to launch their first OLED TVs in July 1st, 2013. Hopefully we won't have to wait much longer. A couple of weeks ago it was also reported that Samsung is set to unveil a 75" OLED TV at the IFA 2013 exhibition (in early September) - and the company aims to start producing those larger banls towards the end of 2013 or early in 2014.

According to reports from Korea, both Samsung and LG are planning to announce new OLED TVs at the IFA 2013 exhibition (Berlin, September 6). This time the companies will focus on size. Samsung will introduce a 75" set while LG will unveil a 77" one. Both TVs will be available on the market before the end of 2013, or in the first half of 2014.

Samsung's first OLED TV will be the KN55F9500: a 55" Full-HD Real OLED TV that uses direct-emission RGB OLED subpixels (and that's why they call it a "Real" OLED). This TV features voice and hand UI recognition, smart TV features (the engine is 1.35Ghz quad-core CPU), new picture processing technologies and active-shutter 3D (with Multi-View support via optional $99 3D headphone glasses).

Samsung's unveiled a curved OLED TV prototype back in January 2013 during the CES exhibition. These 55" panels provide depth to the image and so enables a more life-like viewing experience. Samsung never revealed any technical details about the curved panels, nor did they discuss a model number, release date or price.
